Casita Berma
“What a gem. Maxine accommodated us at the last minute and we’re glad she did. The space was large and comfortable, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked. The property is private, quiet, and located close to the beach. We’ll be back again.”

Wyoming“We hoped for an immersive experience of Todos Santos after 2 prior visits, and were looking for a sanctuary to be our home base. We found it in Casita Berma. Our three months passed in the blink of an eye, and unlike any past adventure, we did not feel ready to leave for home when it was over. Our hearts stayed in Baja.
The casita is part of a larger property in the Las Tunas neighborhood. It was close enough to the old town of Todos Santos to access all that it has to offer, but far enough away to be a refuge. The color and light are special here, but what was was unexpected was the sound. So little sound of the world, and instead the birds, or better, the surf. The casita is an amphitheater-shaped piece of land that acts as a whispering chamber, channeling the sound (and percussive feeling) of the surf into the casita. It was like listening to the pulse of the planet; deeply calming.
The casita had everything we needed for a long stay, both inside and out. The kitchen was a real kitchen, the bed comfortable, the living spaces ample, and the bathroom large and modern. Unlike most rental spaces, this one was actually decorated with real items, and art, that made it feel like home, not an improvised lodging. More, the space outside was as generous as indoors, both with access to sun and shade. The property has a secure parking space within the walls of the property. The casita at all times felt snug and safe, but open and inviting. The hosts could not have been more concerned about our comfort, or more accessible and responsive to our questions. My only hesitation in writing this review is that I don’t want others competing with me for future reservations!

Minneapolis, Minnesota“What a gem. This is the kind of place that makes you wish you could stay a little while (or a lot) longer. The casita and the garden show the love of the owners for this place. Would come back here 100%.”

North Vancouver, BC, Canada“If you are going to Todos Santos, this is a wonderful place to stay! The casita is perfect if you want to take a break from it all or even work remotely. Comfortable and stylish in every respect; a short walk to the beach, and easy drive to town. The garden is lovely and you can hear the waves crashing as you fall asleep. You couldn’t ask for better hosts: friendly, kind and knowledgeable — make sure to take advantage of their recommendations. SanFrancisco, California“We just returned from a wonderful 8 days at Maxine's casita. Everything was perfect! Beginning with the communication, I could tell Maxine would be an amazing host and she was. Aside from the super helpful guidebook she sent, she also had more tips for new restaurants and things to do. The casita is spacious and comfortable and the location could not be better. Just a 7 minute drive to town and all of the shops and restaurants. It was so nice to be away from it all in this beautiful neighborhood, but not too far and an easy drive. Don't miss sunset dinner at the Green Room, a few minutes north of the casita, and drinks at the Todos Santos Inn. Unless you are super adventurous and need do some serious off-roading, you do NOT need a 4-wheel drive or SUV. We were absolutely fine with our little VW Jetta rented from Cactus, by far the best place to rent at the airport. Thank you again Maxine! We will be back.”

White Salmon, Washington“This place is simply fantastic. Upon entering the gate into the property you feel transported into a private oasis. The gardens surrounding this private studio are stunning and full for an impressive variety of fruits and vegetables. The patio is well suited for lounging and enjoying the garden. Inside everything is spotlessly clean, well designed and very well equipped. We weren't left wanting for anything. The bed and linens were very comfortable and the privacy curtains separating it from the living area is a nice touch. With a few of the windows open you can hear the waves crashing nearby. The house itself feels very secure and safe and is in a beautiful neighborhood a very short walk to the beach. Maxine was always very friendly and very quick to respond with any questions and she was prepared with a bunch of local recommendations (all of which were great, definitely take her advice). We would return back here without question. Thanks again Maxine!”
